We are close to several fine golf courses, Steenberg, Royal Cape and Westlake, or you can enjoy wine-tasting at the historic Groot Constantia estate or Constantia Uitsig, both nearby. They house two of the country's finest award-winning restaurants, La Colombe and Constantia Uitsig, and there are many more excellent restaurants in the area. A 15 minute drive will take you to False Bay on the Indian ocean, with many beautiful beaches and the quaint fishing village of Kalk Bay (restaurants, arts & crafts, antiques and collectables). A short drive in the other direction, over Constantia Nek, brings you to Hout Bay, another colourful fishing harbour, which then leads on to the Atlantic seaboard. Perhaps stop-off at Constantia Nek, Cecelia, Silvermine or Tokai Forest for gentle mountain walks or hiking.
Between July and November whales are prolific in Walker Bay, providing the finest land based whale-watching in the world.
