Welcome to Rose Cottage. We are an ideal central base for touring Devon and Cornwall visiting the Eden Project, the NT properties of Cotehele, Lanhydrock, Buckland Abbey and Saltram, the beautiful moors or Bodmin and Dartmoor. A short 25 minute drive from surf beaches, Tintagel, Boscastle and Bude. Rose Cottage situated in a sheltered valley of Launceston town with superb views of the castle, town and countryside. Close to Launceston golf course.
We are delighted to have been given a Highly Commended Award by the AA. This means that we are in the top 10% of Guest Houses in our 3 Star Bed & Breakfast rating. This confirms our growing reputation for comfortable guest accommodation, good food and warm welcome in charming surroundings. We strive to be as eco friendly as possible by recycling, composting, using locally produced ingredients and energy saving policies.
Bill and Marylin Prosser provide a friendly, and relaxing atmosphere for their guests at Rose Cottage. Their aim is to provide their guests with high standard accommodation and wholesome breakfasts using locally produced ingredients where possible. They look forward to welcoming you to Rose Cottage.
All the rooms at Rose Cottage are tastefully decorated and furnished to give comfortable, quality guest accommodation. Sets of fluffy towels and a flannel are provided for each guest and replaced daily if required.

The single room décor is in soothing shades of blue and hessian, and sand. It contains a Wedgewood bedside lamp and Wedgewood accessories. It has a separate private bathroom solely for the use of the single room guests. Luxury robes are provided for the use of single room guests. * The twin en-suite room, situated in the oldest part of the house, overlooks the rose strewn patio and St Stephens parish, has a ‘Country Style’ décor of antique pine, natural fawns with touches of crystal and carmine. A comfortable seating area contains tea and coffee facilities to help you relax.

Start your day in our charming dining room with the breakfast of your choice. Enjoy the superb views from our window table or admire the many pictures which hang in our dining room. A choice of breakfast is available to guests between 8am - 9am in the dining room. Special arrangements can be made if earlier service is required.
In addition to tea, coffee, cereals and fruit juices guests can make a selection from the following;
The delicious Hearty Breakfast of free range eggs, crispy bacon, succulent sausages, grilled tomato, baked beans and golden fried bread, followed by toast and marmalade or strawberry conserve will set guests up for a day's exploring and sightseeing.
A Vegetarian Hearty Breakfast alternative is provided.
Enjoy a Healthy Breakfast of Muesli, cereals, grapefruit segments, prunes, a variety of yoghurts, fresh fruit and fruit juices.
Other choices can be made including scrambled and poached free range eggs.
Locally sourced ingredients will be used whenever possible.

Child FriendlyYes. Our facilities are child friendly. Unfortunately we do not have suitable facilities to entertain children under 12 years of age.
Noteworthy FeaturesRose Cottage is committed to using a sustainable and environmently friendly policy whenever and where ever possible. We are in the process of attaining a green accreditation.
* We like to support other local businesses in the Launceston area and we buy as much locally produced ingredients as possible for our breakfast menu.
* We use energy saving light bulbs and energy saving appliances.
* We compost as much organic waste matter as possible.
* We re-cycle glass, plastic and newspaper.
* We grow our own vegetables.
* To reduce the carbon footprint, we encourage our visitors to use public transport when possible.
* We warmly welcome all walkers and cyclists.
* We feed the birds and encourage birds to nest in the garden, this year we played host to a family of Wrens.

Changeover DayYour room will be ready for you to occupy from 4.00pm. It would be helpful and appreciated if you would be kind enough to give us a call and inform us of your expected time of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

Booking Notes
Provisional Bookings remain firm for one week pending the return of written confirmation within 7 days accompanied with a deposit, equal to that of the first nights stay.
In the case of a cancellation, please advise us immediately, we will attempt to re-let the room and return your deposit less a handling charge of £5 per person. If we are unable to re-let the room then you will be liable for 2/3 of the cost. If you do not cancel and do not use the booking then you will be liable for all the cost less the cost of breakfast. You are advised to take out holiday cancellation insurance.
